2-11-24: Shot the first roll with this attached to my Fujica AX-5. It only worked intermittently, I had to wind manually. I cleaned up the contacts to no avail. When I got home I tried triggering it manually, which didn't work either. I was using freshly charged NiMH (nickle metal hydride) batteries, at around 1.3 volts. Turns out that was the problem. When I replaced those with some fresh lithiums it worked fine. So it just won't work with less than a volt and a half batteries. Fresh alkalines would be fine. Of course as soon as I get home I remove all batteries from everything, both to protect the equipment and to use in the next camera I'm testing.
